| Swallow Hill Music is excited to announce the return of its wildly popular tribute concert series at Four Mile Historic Park this summer! Since committing to an all-tribute concert format two years ago, the long-running series has seen record-setting audiences who come to enjoy their classic rock and folk favorites, lovingly recreated by expert musicians in a family-friendly setting. Front Range favorites The 3eatles, A Tribute to Joni Mitchll featuring Liz Barnez, Rebecca Folsom, and Celeste Krenz, a tribute to John Prine by Sugar Britches, Grateful Dead Tribute Shakedown Street, and The Traveling Wilburys Revue return to the series this year. | Allman Brothers tribute The Other Brothers, and Colorado Springsteen make their series debuts. Attendees love to pack picnic dinners and spread out on the lawn at Four Mile Historic Park, partaking in a decades-old summer music tradition in Denver. Outside food & non-alcoholic drinks and coolers are allowed, but outside alcohol is not permitted. An onsite bar will be available. The seven concerts take place on Wednesday evenings from June 3 through July 15. Concerts begin at 6:30 pm, with Four Mile Historic Park opening at 5:30 pm. In recent years tribute bands have taken their place among the most sought-after live music experiences, with acts like the Pink Floyd Tribute Brit Floyd, Bjorn Again (ABBA), and Hell’s Belles (AC/DC) achieving national and international acclaim and success. These bands demonstrate that tributes to legendary artists can make their beloved catalogs accessible to even more people in a live setting, infusing them with new life and musical perspectives, while remaining sonically faithful to the originals. “Playing these shows really makes us appreciate John Prine’s legacy,” Brian Johanson of Sugar Britches said about the tribute show experience. “I never thought I’d ever be in a “tribute band”, but after John Prine passed, there was just such a big hole in the world, and I really wanted to pay homage to him.” “The last two years at Four Mile Historic Park, I have had several people come up to me after the show in tears telling me how much the show meant to them. That truly makes the whole show worth it, seeing that connection to our hero and knowing we can help keep his legacy alive.” As a nonprofit organization, Swallow Hill relies on ticket sales – including those for Summer Concerts at Four Mile Historic Park – to support its vision of expanding access to the arts.
