The Dive Inn is one of those places that define Denver. Walk in and you will find a 21’ ski boat, free games, cheap prices, and a loyal gathering of locals who make this their spot. Westword even gifted the bar with the distinct honor of being one of the “Fifty Denver Bars We Can’t Live Without.” No matter what you’re looking for in a watering hole, you can find it here.
Owner Jason Tietjen explains the nautical theme, saying, “I used to own a Dive shop in Cozumel, Mexico in the early 90s.” (This might explain why the bar stocks 99 different types of tequila.) Open since Cinco de Mayo in 2012, the Dive Inn also features 7 garage doors, 3 patios (one of which is dog friendly!), and Cluck Chicken, one of the best fried chicken places in Denver.
“The bar with the boat” is similar to Swallow Hill Music in their dedication to fostering a sense of community. What we do through music, they do through free games in a city that might charge you up to $15 an hour. Darts, billiards, foosball, cornhole, ping pong tables…you name it, The Dive Inn has it!
As the holiday season is approaching, Tietjen wants you to think of The Dive Inn for your upcoming events. “Space is generally free, and we have tons of convertible spaces that can accommodate groups of 10 to 300,” he informed us.
Swallow Hill Music members receive a 10% discount off their meal upon showing their member card.
The Dive Inn is located at 1380 S. Broadway and is open all week from 11am-2am. You can reach them at (720) 242-6157.
