Learn how to play an instrument in 2018 – and meet new friends.

Learn how to play an instrument! Our Core program is where you’ll learn the foundations of your instrument. If you’re a very beginner, our 1-A classes start with tuning, holding an instrument, basic chords. If you have more experience, feel free to jump in later in the program! Core classes are taught for Guitar, Voice, Ukulele, Fiddle, Harmonica, Piano, Banjo, and Mandolin.

…who loves a good deed

In 2017, we made over 19,500 musical connections through our educational outreach programs. 11,000 of this total were with Colorado students in the p-12 system. In 2018 we plan to increase our impact and work with 52 classrooms in under resourced communities, where we’ll reach 832 kids, creating 22,336 musical connections in our Denver community. We need your support to make it happen! A donation to Swallow Hill in the name of your music lover helps ensure the growth of our outreach programs. You can donate online here.

The Secret Sisters

The Secret Sisters play Daniels Hall on Jan. 25.

…who loves catching tomorrow’s legends today

The Secret Sisters latest album, You Don’t Own Me Anymore, is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Folk Album category. Their haunted harmonies and stories will sink into your bones, leaving you eagerly awaiting each song. See The Secret Sisters in Daniels Hall on Thursday, January 25.

Patrick Dethlef’s songwriting crests like a humble Townes Van Zandt, innocent of his own haunting melodies and lyricism. His music offers folk Americana with effortless sincerity at a time when many acts strive purposefully to revive the stripped-down feel of a musical history long past. Patrick performs in Tuft Theatre on Saturday, January 20.
