Ways to Give

Below are the most common bequest planned giving options. We’ve created sample language you can share with your attorney or advisor.

Swallow Hill’s legal name is “Swallow Hill Music Association”

Tax ID No. 84‑0781725

Bequest in a Will or Living Trust

The simplest way to leave a legacy—add a paragraph to your estate plan directing a gift to Swallow Hill.

For an unrestricted gift that allows Swallow Hill Music to determine how to use the funds based on the most pressing needs, we recommend this sample language for your will and/or trust:

“I give to Swallow Hill Music, a nonprofit organization currently located at 71 E. Yale Ave, Denver, CO 80210, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted charitable use and purpose.”

To designate your provision for a particular purpose:

“I give to Swallow Hill Music, a nonprofit organization currently located at 71 E. Yale Ave, Denver, CO 80210, or its successor thereto, _________ [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property]. This gift should be used for (state purpose) if and so long as Swallow Hill Music determines that the need exists. If Swallow Hill Music shall determine at the outset or at a later time that the need does not exist, or no longer exists or for some reason it is not possible or prudent to administer my gift as originally intended, then Swallow Hill Music may, in its sole and uncontrolled discretion, direct the use of my bequest for a purpose related as closely as possible to that stated above.”

Beneficiary Designation

Name Swallow Hill as a beneficiary on a retirement account, life‑insurance policy, or Donor‑Advised Fund.

1) Contact the administrator of your retirement plan, insurance policy or bank account for a change-of-beneficiary form, or simply download a form from your provider’s website.

2) Decide what percentage (1 to 100) you would like Swallow Hill Music to receive and name us, along with the percentage you choose, on the beneficiary form. Return the completed form.

3) Contact Cecile Kerr at cecile@swallowhillmusic.org to let us know your goals for the gift so we can ensure it is used as you intend.
