About the Show

Join us in our Quinlan Cafe & Bar on Monday, 4/20 from 6pm - 8pm for a evening showcasing four of our group classes, then stick around for a free jam from 8pm - 9pm.

6pm - 6:30pm: Caleb Schwing's Swallow Hill Songwriting Club

Swallow Hill Songwriting Club members will share their original songs across genres in the round for you!

6:30pm - 7pm: Suzanne Slade's Women of Rock Ensemble

This all female-identified ensemble plays songs from female-fronted rock groups through the ages. Nothing is more powerful than plugging in.

7pm - 7:30pm: Matt Skellenger's Jazz Ensemble: The Music of Ron Miles

Longtime Swallow Hill Instructor, Matt Skellenger, leads the Jazz Ensemble: The Music of Ron Miles. This group plays a selection of tunes from Ron’s expansive catalog. From his first release in 1986 to his final album Rainbow Sign in 2019, Ron blended straight-ahead jazz, rock, country, folk, funk, pop, avant-garde, and gospel influences to create a style unique to him and his Colorado roots. Come celebrate the life and music of one of Colorado's most prolific celebrated musicians.

“Ron Miles, We Love and Thank You.” – Matt

7:30pm - 8pm: Matt Skellenger's Yale Ave. Ensemble

This ensemble started as a group of longtime Swallow Hill students who learned their core instruments together, and eventually formed the Yale Ave. Ensemble. They play everything from pop and country to folk and bluegrass.
