Songwriter Social: Jackson Emmer, Megan Burtt, & Martin Gilmore
Nashville-style songwriters in the round! These award-winning writers will share their original songs and the stories behind them. This will be a stellar night of Folk, Indie, Bluegrass and Country songwriting at it's finest. The in-the-round concert format leads to intimate performances and unexpected collaborations... Jackson Emmer's songs have been recorded by Tom Paxton, Tim O'Brien, and Brittany Ann Tranbaugh. His music has been featured in Rolling Stone, Billboard, and the Bluegrass Situation. He is currently a teaching fellow for Acoustic Guitar Magazine, and is working on his 6th solo record.
Megan Burtt is a Colorado-based singer/songwriter, and Kerrville NewFolk Competition winner. She is an NPR Tiny Desk contest favorite, and her music has been acclaimed by KRFC, Guitar World, and Paste.
Martin Gilmore is a much-loved teacher here at Swallow Hill, but he is also the winner of several songwriting contests, including the prestigious Telluride Troubadour and Kerrville New Folk competitions. Gilmore has been making records since 2009, and has opened for folks like The Infamous Stringdusters, Stephen Stills, and Judy Collins.
