About the Show

Please join us in the Quinlan Cafe for the Spring 2026 Martin Gilmore Student Showcase on Thursday, May 21st!

Students from the Spring 2026 Progressions Bluegrass Guitar, Progressions: Songwriting, and Rocky Flats Meltdown (Swallow Hill Bluegrass Band Class) will all perform and showcase their talents and skills learned. Help us celebrate these musicians and their journeys!

Progressions and Swallow Hill Bluegrass Band Alumni are invited to connect with other former students and instructors!

Learn more about Swallow Hill Music's Progressions program below. Applications for Fall 2026 will be open soon.

Progressions is a four-month immersive learning experience, where students join a small cohort that meets multiple times a week and over 30-40 times throughout the program.

Comprehensive measures are taken by the instructor to see that the personal, professional, and artistic goals of the students are being met with regular instructor access as well as collaboration with guest instructors and industry professionals.

Students are challenged, but not overwhelmed. Progressions was designed for students to receive personalized help from the teacher at multiple weekly junctures. Curated practice plans are built for each individual student’s advancement.

Monthly performance opportunities as well as a release of a finished product demonstrating writing, recording, and/or teaching are part of Progressions.

If you have any questions about the program or would like to discuss if it is a good fit for you, please reach out!

The Swallow Hill Bluegrass Band is a five-piece ensemble that meets for sixteen weeks. The ensemble will consist of one of each of the following instruments: mandolin, banjo, guitar, fiddle/dobro, voice + instrument, and bass. This will be a gigging ensemble that will play shows outside of normal class performances.
