It’s nearly summer! Our first quarter of the year was stellar, and I’m thrilled to share some of those successes with you. We hosted a sold out show with Josh Ritter at Central Presbyterian Church, and it was glorious to be back in that space. It’s exciting to book shows at larger venues again, and we’re fortunate to have great partners like Central Presbyterian as we continue to expand into the community. The school is packed, and our Little Swallows schools are getting ready to close up shop for the summer. It’s been an impactful year so far, and there is much more to come.
Our Yale Avenue headquarters will soon hum with the joyful and melodic sounds of our Summer Camps. The building is super active during the day, and the music and happiness flows around the space unlike any other time of the year. The evenings will also be packed with students learning music at every level, and on a variety of instruments (including the didjeridu, hand drums, and many stringed instruments, just to name a few). Music is alive and well, and creating spaces for exploration and friendship. Come join us!
Summer concert season is upon us as well! We’ve got fourteen concerts at Denver Botanic Gardens, along with a handful of Evenings al Fresco, and tribute bands are back at Four Mile Historic Park. The Indiewood Street Festival in Englewood will be celebrating its second year, and we’ve also got shows at Left Hand Brewing in Longmont later in the summer, as well as plenty of fun activities downtown. There is no shortage of live music, and we’re proud to be part of the vibrant ecosystem that makes the Denver Metro Area and the state a great music destination. If you’re looking to discover new music, enjoy some oldies, or see your favorite bands, we’ve got you covered.
I would also like to take a moment to thank the residents of the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD). The generous support that is provided for over 300 organizations is critical to the cultural fabric of the seven-county district and beyond. If you’re interested in learning more about this amazing funding structure, please visit SCFD.org. Thank you for believing that arts, science, and culture are critical to our lives and our growth as human beings.
Our community continues to be incredibly generous and supportive. With the support of each of you, we’re able to provide access to music in all shapes and sizes, and meet people where they are in their musical journey. We are honored and proud to be your partner in building community in a beautiful place.
Have an incredible summer, and we hope to see you at one of our many great programs and concerts. Let’s keep building community together!
