Dr. Dave Shapiro brightens up when talking about his son’s music lessons at Swallow Hill Music. A casual guitarist himself, he laughed as he told us that, “About 3 weeks into lessons, and my son surpassed me!”

Dr. Dave is no stranger to musicians, though. As the owner of Shapiro Family Chiropractic, he has been working with the Colorado Symphony, the Colorado Ballet, and multiple individual musicians who find themselves with injuries in their extremities due to their repetitive motions. (If you go to the Colorado Ballet’s performance of The Nutcracker on December 28th, you’ll see him perform!)

In addition to his work with artists, Dr. Dave has focused on pregnancy, pediatric, and athletic chiropractic – he was the team chiropractor for the Denver Outlaws from 2012-2014! “My youngest patient was 20 minutes old and my oldest was about 92 or 93 years old,” he told us. “I like to work with a wide variety of people.”

Dr. Dave’s clinic also has a massage therapist on staff, and they can do X-rays on site if need be. Plus, he has two offices – one in Southeast Denver and one in the Highlands.

While his son has been taking music lessons here at Swallow Hill for a few years, Dr. Dave really only considers himself to be a music-lover. “I’ve been strumming the same seven guitar chords for the past 20 years, and I sing in the shower.”
