Spencer LaJoye is a singer/songwriter from the Midwest making queer indie folk music for everyone. The 2021 Kerrville Songwriting Competition and 2024 Songwriter Serenade winner spins crystalline vocals through a loop pedal while strumming an acoustic guitar in charming, banter-heavy performances that keep audiences laughing one moment and weeping the next.
A duo adding new life and complexity to the concept of a family band, China and Seth Kent of Alright Alright create orchestral folk for the open-minded and poetry for the broken-hearted. Though their songs often bear a deep sense of tradition, Alright Alright aren’t afraid to experiment with boundaries, testing the limits of genre and expectations for content. They are often inspired by the rich history of places they visit as well as by familiar haunts in their hometown of Denver, Colorado. From southern industrial towns to street signs to abandoned cars on I-70, there is a sense of rootedness that lends depth and dimension to their songwriting, bringing listeners on an emotional journey they will want to take again and again.
