About Magpie Vocal Improv Ensemble

Magpie is a collaboration of four dynamic singers who create music spontaneously, without a score, chart, or director. Comprised of Marta Aarli, Celeste Niehaus, Tom Weiser, and Roy Willey, the ensemble’s strength lies in its ability to open to the unknown and transform the immediacy of the moment into compelling, relatable music. Every piece Magpie sings is improvised in the moment, never sung before, never to be sung again.

About Jen Hitt

Singer-songwriter Jen Hitt is a musician in love with yoga, eggs, hiking, in-season tomatoes, community, dreams, and cheese. Their songs pair smooth vocals with exacting lyrics for laughs and tears alike. Jen teaches at Women of Folk and Fireside Folk at Swallow Hill Music, sings with St. Martin’s Chamber Choir and various churches and synagogues, and produces radio for Colorado Public Radio.
