About The Sweet Lillies:
The Sweet Lillies’ music is, first and foremost, heartfelt and collaborative. Those defining traits are given life by the quartet of musicians who make up the Lillies. Together they have combined their individual strengths to deliver powerful narratives of life in song. With their lineup of guitar, viola, upright bass, drums and ethereal vocal harmonies that float like a dream, the Sweet Lillies’ music has a hard hitting original flavor with a forward-looking eye. They have incorporated all of their cumulative life-experiences into their music, song-writing, and artistry, crafting an uncommonly-beautiful style they have christened “String-Americana” – a nod to the band’s all encompassing musical tastes and willingness to experiment with genres ranging from folk and rock all the way to hip-hop.
About Splendid Torch:
Splendid Torch draws from acoustic traditions spanning Appalachia and the Ozarks to craft a sound that manages to be at once familiar and definitively fresh. Honeyed harmonies buoy the classic high-lonesome croon of lead vocalist Lily Sexton, sailing above a whirling reel of steel string sonics and pop melody. Splendid Torch started in a University of Massachusetts dorm room when Sexton (fiddle) and Mitch Bordage (mandolin) bonded over bluegrass. Guitarist Sean Davis caught their attention at an open mic in 2016, and the band released their debut album Goodbye, Black Velvet, the following summer. In 2019 the band released their sophomore LP Rockabee Field. Their third studio album, Rabbit Analog, was released August 2021. They released an ambitious cover project Fakin It: Covers Deserving Coverage in 2022, a feat of collaboration with Jacob Jolliff, Twisted Pine, and other talented pals. Now joined by bassist Josh Ballard, their fifth studio album is projected for a fall 2024 release. Their ten years together have been spent honing improvisational play, harmony arranging, rhythm and energy to create a compelling live show. Regardless of their relative virtuosity at the beginning of their adventure, today Splendid Torch is composed of a group of artists that know how to work together as one.
