A gathering to thank our Swallow Hill Music Members for being a meaningful part of our community.
Swallow Hill looks forward to hosting our Members for this special annual event.
We’ll be serving up food provided by Chook Chicken, and complimentary beer, and wine in the Quinlan Cafe!
Doors will open at 5:30pm. Jake Leg will perform in Daniels Hall at 6:15pm, and Birds of Play will perform at 7:30pm.

About Birds of Play
Birds of Play is an Americawna Roots quartet based in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado. Their distinct sound is rooted in and inspired by their connection to the land in which they reside. The band features multi- instrumentalists and songwriters Alex Paul on Guitar, Upright Bass, Mandolin and Vocals; Eric Shedd on Upright Bass, Mandolin, Guitar and Vocals; Anneke Dean on Violin, Guitar and Vocals and Jack Tolan on Guitar, Mandolin, Electric Bass and Vocals.
Their arrangements and compositions are a reflection of their vast and teaming pools of inspiration from artists such as Wood Brothers, Punch Brothers and Andrew Bird. Birds of Play’s high-caliber musicianship and song craft are laced with imagination and a vibrant, intuitive understanding of the human condition – while their live shows weave together an intricate tapestry of place, authenticity, magic, and humor.
Four years into this journey, Birds of Play are venturing further out of the nest to create community and bring people together to share in universal themes of love, connection, and wonder. With an uplifting and joyous exuberance – and a fourth studio album on the horizon for release this summer – these four dear friends are riding the thermals of their creativity to ever-greater heights.
About Jake Leg:
Rooted in tradition but with a fierce commitment to innovation, Jake Leg forges their own path through the expansive world of acoustic music. Consisting of award-winning musicians Eric Wiggs on guitar and vocals, Dylan McCarthy on mandolin and vocals, Justin Hoffenberg on fiddle, and Aaron Hoffenberg on bass, Jake Leg breathes new life into modern progressive bluegrass, crafting a captivating landscape of high-level instrumental ability and thoughtful songwriting. Drawing something new from the well of tradition, the band takes the listener on a journey through rich narratives and evocative melodies, proving that within every note lies both a connection to the past and the promise of a bold musical future.
Since forming in 2021, the band has quickly garnered national attention. They were recently nominated for 2024 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year and named one of “10 of the Top Colorado Bluegrass Bands” by Denver Westword. With steadily growing momentum and their all-original, debut album Fire on the Prairie released May 11, 2024, Jake Leg stands out as a unique voice in bluegrass music.
