Davey, Do You See The Light?

Video

The haunting and mysterious folk musical Davey, Do You See the Light? returns to Swallow Hill Music with a live performance in Daniels Hall on Saturday, March 21. Based on the true accounts of trapped miners and their days deep underground in a Pennsylvania coal mine, Davey is an epic poem, an Americana folk concert and a mesmerizing multimedia experience.

Created by Denver songwriter Jim Broyles, it’s also a personal telling of a childhood memory and an unexpected voyage to dimensions beyond this world. Jim (guitar) is joined on stage by Steef Sealy (banjo), Chris Sealy (mandolin), Benjamin Cowhick (bass) and Luke Halpin (fiddle). Together, they present an emotionally engaging tale in rhyming verse, woven together by a collection of original songs with elegant harmonies and vivid instrumentation.

The CD of Davey’s songs was produced by Brian Hunter of Swallow Hill Sawtelle studio, and this will mark the release of this fascinating recording.
