It seems like the trend has been growing for years: due to funding and budgetary issues, public schools are cutting arts and music classes in favor of prioritizing subjects like math and science. Though these core subjects may have been deemed more essential, the benefits of incorporating the arts into students’ curriculum have been shown time and again: not only do the arts have vital benefits all their own, but combining arts education with math and science lessons can actually increase students’ success in those subjects.
