Belt It Out! Campers immerse themselves in music, make friends, grow their confidence, and express themselves. This year’s Belt It Out camp will feature run for two weeks with multiple performance opportunities.
In a world where music is infectious…that’s all fine and good, but not as infectious as a zombie virus! Explore what happens when the two are put together – a Post Apocalyptic Broadway extravaganza – “The hills are alive” with the sound of Zombies!” A hilarious parody based on the enduring Broadway and Movie Smash Hit – “The Sound Of Music,” we will feature songs and scenes, slightly askew. “These are a few of my favorite brains” “how do you solve a zombie like Maria” “I was 16 going on 278” and many other favorites are turned just right, to delight the macabre in our fun and fantasy natures.
Zombies have become hugely popular. Once relegated to B- Movie matinees, Zombies are now firmly embraced by audiences of every shape and size and featured in all sorts of media, video games, television and even topping bestseller lists. This Zombie story promises to be a wacky and fun approach to the genre, a musical comedy approach where the undead get to wax poetic and show their favorite dance moves. In the end, we’re all able to sleep at night, because the zombies, like the rest of us, just want the same opportunities for life, laughter, love and the pursuit of the American dream that we all do.
Belt It Out Camp features the artistic, dynamic, and energetic creations of directing duo – Jeff LaGreca, Suzanne Slade and Barry Brown. Over the past few summers, they’ve brought us wacky musical versions of “Jurassic Park, A Superhero Musical”, “A Galaxy Far, Far Away: The Musical”, and “Jukebox: The Musical!”
Join us for an inspiring story of struggle, effort, and doubt. Our campers will present a heartfelt portrayal of the highs and lows of showbiz…and life. There are dynamite ditties—from the Beatles and Irving Berlin to Beyonce and Carly Rae Jepsen—presented to their full crowd-pleasing potential as our songs span the decades.
