Music was part of Clyfford Still’s life from an early age. He played piano and memorized works by Beethoven, Chopin, and Schubert. His record collection, which is part of the museum’s archives, includes an eclectic mix of classical, jazz, traditional gospel, blues, and folk. By partnering with organizations like Swallow Hill Music, the Clyfford Still Museum hopes museum goers can experience Still’s work through sight and sound.

Bring a picnic and join us to celebrate summer in the city. Delicious ice cream sandwiches from Peteybird, local microbrews from Baere Brewing Co., and gourmet sausages from Biker Jim’s will also be available at each event.

Having formed from the ashes of several noted Colorado bands such as Bela Karoli, Everything Absent or Distorted (a love story), and Rabbit Is a Sphere, Somerset Catalog’s long history of playing and writing, and its collaborative nature led to well-thought out music which sways effortlessly between melancholic doom-pop and jubilant indie rock. The band makes music that moves between desperate longing and loud resignation, music with an unspoken, lurid past doing dark things that scratch the sheen.
