Swallow Hill Music is proud to present the legendary indie pop band, The Magnetic Fields, performing in our Daniels Hall over two evenings on Friday, March 17 and Saturday, March 18 2023.
The band is the brainchild of composer+singer Stephin Merritt, who has written, recorded and produced 12 Magnetic Fields albums since the 1990’s, including his 3-disc masterpiece, 69 Love Songs.
Concertgoers will be treated to an intimate, orchestral-pop experience featuring cello, ukulele, guitars and keyboards.
Saturday night show: The Magnetic Fields are also playing Swallow Hill Music on Saturday, March 18. Get tickets for that show here.
Over their two-night stand, The Magnetic Fields will journey through the group’s career, spanning songs from their hit album 69 Love Songs to the autobiographical 50 Song Memoir, as well as from their most recent 2020 album, Quickies.
Joining Merritt onstage are musicians Sam Davol, Shirley Simms, Chris Ewen, and Anthony Kaczynski.
The tour also celebrates the release of a special 30th anniversary vinyl edition of their 1992 EP, The House of Tomorrow.
