The Woody Guthrie Festival: Weaving The Threads is a two-day event honoring the legacy of an American icon and celebrating the many facets of his creative life: musician, artist, technologist, political activist, and writer. Featuring live performances by Jay Farrar (of Son Volt), Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion, Tao Seeger, The Atomic Duo (feat. Mark Rubin of Bad Livers), Seth Bernard & May Erlewine, Café Nuba featuring Ashara Ekundayo, Jennifer Johns & Erwin Thomas, and Master of Ceremonies Aaron Keim.
The festival will also include art, films, workshops, and presentations from the Woody Guthrie Foundation & Archives, including panel discussions with Woody’s granddaughter and performer Sarah Lee Guthrie, Pete Seeger’s grandson and performer Tao Seeger, granddaughter and Director of the Woody Guthrie Foundation, Anna Canoni, the Head Archivist and Curator of the Woody Guthrie Archives, Jorge Arévalo, and all-things-Woody collector Barry Ollman.

- Write A Letter/Paint A Letter – Woody was know for his beautiful hand written letters adorned with art. See examples of his work and write/paint a letter to friend, loved-one, or politician. We’ve got the letters and paint, you bring the words and art!

- Collecting Woody – Barry Ollman, Local, Woody Guthrie artifact collector & member or the Advisory Board of the Woody Guthrie Foundation
- Woody Sing A Long – Bring an instrument or just your voice and play a dozen or so of Woody’s favorite tunes. Lyrics and chords provided.
- 1:10-2:10 pm
- Lunch Break (Lunch available for purchase.)
- Not Just For Kids – Sarah Lee Guthrie will lead songs written by her and her grandfather Woody that are loved by Kids and Adults alike.

- Protest Music in the Contemporary Age – Mark Rubin of the Atomic Duo and Bad Livers will present songs and ideas as a modern protest artist.

- Woody 2.0 – A Multimedia Weaving of the Threads – Scott Kinnamon
- Songwriting with Johnny Irion & Sarah Lee Guthrie – This dynamic duo will talk about their songwriting process, play some songs, and also talk about how granddad Woody approached writing some of his famous songs.
